The route runs Nashik → Trimbakeshwar → Grishneshwar → Bhimashankar → Nashik. Starting with Trimbakeshwar uses the early morning when the temple is calmest. Grishneshwar comes next for the first night, and the Sahyadri ghat drive to Bhimashankar is done in daylight on Day 2.

Your driver picks you up early from your Nashik address or the railway station. Trimbakeshwar is 30–35 km away, about 40–45 minutes by road. Keep 1–2 hours for darshan; weekends and Mondays are busier. After darshan and breakfast, drive 240–250 km (about 5 hr 20 min – 5 hr 35 min) to Grishneshwar near Verul. Evening darshan if time allows, then night stay at Grishneshwar (Verul) itself.
Morning darshan at Grishneshwar, which usually takes 1–1.5 hours. The UNESCO World Heritage Ellora Caves (Archaeological Survey of India) are about 10 minutes away, so many families add a short visit here (closed on Tuesdays). Then drive 285–295 km (about 6 hr 20 min – 6 hr 35 min) to Bhimashankar through the Sahyadri hills. Night stay at Bhimashankar.
Early morning darshan at Bhimashankar, when queues are shortest. Keep 1–2 hours. After darshan, drive 210–220 km (about 4 hr 40 min – 4 hr 55 min) back to Nashik for drop at your home, hotel or railway station.

Trimbakeshwar sits near the source of the Godavari river, about 30–35 km from Nashik. Its lingam is unique because it has three faces representing Brahma, Vishnu and Mahesh. Grishneshwar, at Verul near Chhatrapati Sambhajinagar, is considered the last of the twelve Jyotirlingas. Its red-stone temple is close to the Ellora Caves. Darshan timing: 5:30 AM – 9:30 PM. Men usually remove shirts before entering the inner sanctum. Ellora Caves are closed on Tuesdays, so plan Day 2 accordingly. Best time: October to March is the most comfortable, with pleasant weather on the ghat roads. The Shravan month and Mahashivratri bring huge crowds and longer waits, so book early. During the monsoon (June–September) the Bhimashankar ghat is beautiful but can be foggy and slower.
